Like your cars fast and loud? We’ve got a treat for you in this week’s edition of hottest motoring news. You won’t even need to worry about the cops pulling you over since they’re part of the news too. From Ferrari’s latest 488 GTB slide video to Victoria Police’s latest highway patrol, this is your weekly hit of motoring goodness done right.

#1 Ferrari 488 GTB Spanish Night Run

The sound of a Ferrari is unmistakable. Most people know that but for the people at Pennzoil, they wanted to prove it. To do this, they took the latest Ferrari hero car to the streets of Spain for a night time drift session. It’s not really hooning if there’s a classical music score, right? Not that it needs any music with the twin turbo V8 singing in the background. You’ll want to buy one after watching this. Make sure to turn it up and hold on tight.

#2 Victoria Police Receive Fastest Highway Patrol Car Ever

The Holdens and Fords of yesteryear are getting on a bit so Victoria Police reached out to some friends at Mercedes-Benz to borrow a car. To their surprise, they received the keys to a brand new $200,000 Mercedes-AMG GLE 63 Coupe S. This is no marketing car either. Victorian highway Patrol fully intend to use this beast to chase down crims on the run. The AWD monster packs a 5.5-litre twin-turbo V8 pushing 430kW and 760Nm of torque which can get it to 100km/h in just 4.2 seconds. Most importantly, taxpayers won’t be out of pocket by $200,000 as the car has been loaned to the police force.

#3 Porsche Factory Driver Teaches Novices About G-Forces In 911R

If only all driving instructors were this cool. Porsche factory driver Patrick Long recently took two novices out to the company’s Weissach Development Centre in Germany to teach them about g-forces and managing the inertia of their latest hero car: a 911R no less. It’s all books and physics as Long gives the novices a rundown on how a car should handle. Then the fun part happens. Watch below as a power sliding 911R goes through its paces.

#4 McLaren Unveil The 570S GT4 Track Weapon

McLaren‘s baby 570S which debuted at the recent Geneva Auto Show has barely had time to settle in and already it’s getting the race car treatment with the 570S Sprint and GT4 variants. Whilst the Sprint isn’t built for competition, it is for regular track days. Above that there’s the GT4 spec which adds an FIA-approved roll cage, six-point harness and wait for it, air-conditioning. Race in luxury, right?

#5 2017 Nissan GT-R

As the cars begin to roll out for the New York Auto Show, one particular entrant will be a hotly anticipated beast amongst the crop. The 2017 Nissan GT-R will be receiving a fresh new look as it takes on the likes of Corvette’s ZL1 on home turf. Nissan haven’t said much except for releasing a teaser of the car’s rear end. In the past Nissan have been testing prototypes with new front sections, so expect to see significant aero improvements in this area. It’s time to go giant hunting.
