Johnny Depp has taken on many identities over the span of his career. From a swashbuckling Jack Sparrow in ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ to a drugged-up Raoul Duke in ‘Fear & Loathing in Las Vegas’, and most recently the terrifying Boston gangster Whitey Bulger in ‘Black Mass’. The 52-year-old seems to have done it all, yet he had never appeared as a severed head, until now.
Johnny Depp made his ‘The Walking Dead’ debut last weekend appearing as one of three severed heads integral to the show’s latest episode ‘Not Tomorrow Yet’.
“One of the other heads, I don’t know if I’m going to get in trouble if I say this, was Johnny Depp,” explained Greg Nicotero, the episode’s director. “I think we had sculpted an emaciated version of a dummy head for something and we used Johnny Depp’s head as a basis just for a clay sculpt…Norman [Reedus] kept saying he wanted the heads when we were done shooting. I said we’ve got the wait until the picture is logged.”
It’s like a Johnny Depp Easter egg hunt for diehard fans.
