What comes to mind when you think of Levi’s? “Mods and rockers, Beatle freaks, punks and skunks, kooks and geeks pretty much sums up Levi’s,” Mark McNairy opens with in the trailer for Levi’s upcoming three-part documentary chronicling the massive cultural impact and influence of those classic 501 jeans that you’ve lived in for years.
“The 501® Jean: Stories of an Original” docu-series features interviews from a range of artists and Levi’s influencers like John Baldessari, Erin Wasson, Henry Rollins and Lee Ranaldo, and is narrated by folk musician Ramblin’ Jack Elliot.
Part one will explore 501’s roots as a uniform for coal miners, cowboys, and industrial workers, and will be released on March 16. Check out the trailer for yourself above.
