Apple recently pleased the tech heads of the world with a handful of new product developments at the ‘Let Us Loop You In’ event earlier in the week, but the fresh tech doesn’t end there. The brand’s latest iOS update has also rolled out with a new feature that is designed to help you sleep better.
iOS 9.3, which is available now to download as a Software Update in Settings, will improve current News and Health apps but will also help you get a better night’s sleep through a new feature called ‘Night Shift’. Apple created the app after studies found that bright blue displays can interfere with our circadian rhythms, contibuting to a lack of sleep.
The app controls your phone’s clock, geolocation and screen display by changing to the warmer end of the spectrum at sunset, which means you won’t be straining your eyes to check a midnight text, or messing up your sleep before you’ve even shut your eyes.
To activate Night Shift, iOS 9.3 users need to tap the icon in Settings > Display & Brightness > Night Shift and once it’s on, you can either set it manually or let your iPhone decide when your screen needs to change.
Here’s to a less tech affected long weekend sleep in for all.
