It’s all about the wheels in this week’s collection of the world’s coolest money-grabbers and gadgets. Think Elton John’s Aston Martin, a Maserati-powered motorcycle and a bike made of wood. Besides that we’ve got one crazy concept cliff house and a pair of indestructible gloves. It’s money time.
#1 Lazareth LM 847 Motorcycle
This could well be the world’s most insane custom bike to ever come out of a custom show. The French-built Lazareth LM 847 crams a monstrous Maserati 4.7-litre V8 with 470hp and 620Nm between your legs for some insane two-wheeled action. For those not in the know, that’s an engine made for a luxury performance car, not a bike. Some would even liken it to the bike from the cult film, Akira. All we want to know is how hot that seat gets.
#2 NoCry Cut Resistant Gloves
Never lose a finger again in a sword fight. Or in the kitchen – whatever floats your boat. NoCry gloves are cut resistant and 4 times stronger than leather. That means preparing food, working on heavy industrial jobs without cumbersome gloves and doing it with the confidence of the highest EN388 level 5 cut resistance. It’s also 100% food safe and machine washable which means keeping it clean is super easy.
#3 Grainworks Bicycle
Wood can be a thing of beauty but it is often relegated to static pieces in a man’s life. Grainworks are looking to change this with their cool new wood framed bike. The level of craftsmanship on the bicycle is exquisite to say the least. That’s namely in part due to the fact that only one man builds them out of his Californian workshop by hand. Interested riders can choose from three different wood grains and finishes in either Cherry, Walnut or Baltic Green.
#4 Sir Elton John’s Aston Martin V8 Vantage Saloon
Own a piece of entertainment history with the music legend’s very own Aston Martin. The vehicle was ordered new and registered by Elton John way back in September 1985 and has been kept in pristine knick since. Mainly because he doesn’t really drive it. The car exudes pure British motoring with an RSW 7.0L engine and an upgraded gearbox from Richard Stewart Williams for a sportier drive. On the clock is just 74,029km whilst the body sports its original Royal Cherry body colour. Place your bid in the link below.
#5 Copper Canyon Cocktail Bar
Picture yourself dining off the cliff face with a hundred metres of free fall below you. That’s what the boffins at Tall Arquitectos are suggesting with their latest concept cocktail bar with unprecedented views of Basaseachic Falls. Copper Canyon Cocktail Bar wouldn’t just be made for drinking though. In the lavish idea there’s also plans to make it a tourist destination with a pool, upper observation deck and glass floor. Fine dining in the sky? Yes please.
#6 Amazon Tap Speaker
Don’t be quick to judge. This is not your average wireless Bluetooth speaker gadget. Amazon’s latest Tap Speaker will allow users to call for an Uber, check if your car needs refuelling and order pizza. The company’s previous Echo speaker already did all of this but now the Tap is taking it to the road in portable format. Simply tap the microphone button and the Alexa-based interface will come to life. There’s nine hours of playtime and wireless charging built in. The great thing is that the Tap will only grow in functionality over time as more apps are rolled out.
