IWC Schaffhausen marked a special occasion last night with an event and watch release celebrating the Laureus World Sports Awards Ceremony in Berlin.
The distinguished gathering of figures saw the unveiling of a new Portofino Automatic Moon Phase 37 Edition “Laureus Sport for Good Foundation” complete with an engraved caseback featuring the winning design from last year’s IWC children’s drawing competition. Limited to just 1,500 pieces, the new Portofino marks the tenth special edition by IWC as part of the watchmaker’s ongoing commitment to Laureus Sport for Good.
A portion of the proceeds from the watch sale will go towards Laureus’ push to supporting its social projects.
The Portofino Automatic Moon Phase 37 Edition features a self-winding mechanical movement with a 42-hour power reserve and a moon phase display. The watch is finely appointed with a 37mm stainless steel case and an alligator leather strap by Santoni.
