Montblanc is a luxury brand of broad talents. Besides their watches, fragrances, leather goods and eyewear, the esteemed brand is also renowned for their elegant writing instruments which dates back to the very first fountain pen that came about in 1909.
This year sees Montblanc celebrate their 110th anniversary with a throwback to that very first fountain pen with the “Rouge et Noir”, a homage to the original design with a modern twist. The refreshed pen sees a slimmer and longer design alongside Montblanc’s piston mechanism.
A distinctive snake design also wraps itself around the barrel cap which takes the aesthetics back to the Art Nouveau crowd of the early 20th century.
The signature snowflake logo sits on top of a coral red cap whilst the pen itself is constructed of ebonite, a material made from natural rubber, sulphur, and linseed oil, a traditional manufacturing process used by Montblanc.
