Mr. Burberry: From The Classic Trench To A Signature Scent

If you consider yourself a man of style then there’s no doubt that you would have become acquainted with the classic trench coat at some point in your fashion-conscious life, and who does the trench like no one else? Burberry of course.

With every stylish man comes a stylish trench and a signature scent, that’s why today marks the launch of Mr. Burberry, the brand’s latest fragrance inspired by its iconic British-made heritage trench.

Created by Chief Creative and Chief Executive Officer of Burberry, Christopher Bailey in collaboration with perfumer Francis Kurkdijan, Mr. Burberry captures the essence of London.

“Mr. Burberry is our most significant men’s fragrance to date. Inspired by the iconic Burberry trench coat and by London, a city of great contrasts and contradictions. It is traditional yet irreverent, elegant without being pristine. It perfectly encapsulates a mood and an attitude that today’s Burberry man will recognise as his own,” says Christopher Bailey.

It’s a sensual, herbal and woody eau de toilette, fusing classic scents of British perfumery with unexpected ingredients. Contemporary and sophisticated, much like the Burberry trench, the fragrance opens with notes of crisp zesty grapefruit, cut with a seductive base of earthy vetiver and smoky guaiac wood.

The campaign, shot by Oscar and Turner prize-winning British director Steve McQueen features British actor and musician Josh Whitehouse and British model and actress Amber Anderson in the brand’s ready-to-wear collection.

While the Mr. Burberry bottle is rather lust-worthy on its own – bold and masculine with a weighted cap referencing horn-look buttons and a hand-tied knot in English-woven black garbardine at the neck – customers are also invited to physically personalise their Mr. Burberry bottle with up to three initials through the brand’s monogramming service on and in selected stores (gift idea, anyone?).

Add to the Mr. Burberry offering an aftershave splash, face moisturiser and beard oil and you’ve got an arsenal of grooming must-haves to be paired with an iconic trench, for an iconic man. Check out the sexy campaign video below for more.
