Uber Partners Up With Optus To Give You Wi-Fi While You Ride

From puppies to pizza, you’d think there would be little ground left to cover at Uber HQ, but surprising and delighting us once again, the ride-sharing service has added WiFi to its offering.

Yesterday Uber announced an exclusive agreement with Optus that will see the two organisations collaborate to deliver in-car 4G WiFi to consumers from selected vehicles.

“Uber has fundamentally changed the way we think about getting from point A to point B, and for us, this is an opportunity to create a truly connected experience for drivers and riders by using our superfast 4G Plus Network,” says Steve Long, Director, Local Markets at Optus.

The in-car WiFi will initially be rolled out in 100 vehicles in Sydney and Melbourne and aims to help people stay connected whether you’re travelling for business or pleasure, without blowing up your personal data allowance. It will also allow for up to 10 devices to be connected at one time, so you and your squad can enjoy free WiFi while you ride.
