Professional athletes aren’t always known for their subtlety and good taste, but legendary New York Yankee Alex Rodriguez displays both in his Florida home. Architectural Digest recently went inside the 11,000 square foot pad and here are some of the highlights.
Architecture firm Choeff Levy Fischman designed the house, while Briggs Edward Solomon deployed the decoration and Christopher Cawley Landscape Architecture transformed the grounds. Outside, the stand-out features are the James Perse furniture in the barbecue cabana (yes, barbecue cabana) and the artificial grass that was used to conserve water.
Inside, A-Rod’s mansion boasts Rick Owens furniture and a shockingly varied art collection – including works by Keith Haring, Andy Warhol, and Jean-Michel Basquiat. There’s also an angora carpet because, well, when you’re one of the world’s biggest baseball stars, why not?
From head to toe, the property is elegant, masculine, and envy-inducing. Read more about the Rodriguez residence over on Architectural Digest.
