It’s time to step into the driver’s seat as we take a look at the trending stories in the motoring world this week. From an upcoming Alfa Romeo CUV to VW’s ballistic record setting lap of the Nurburgring, it’s time to make some noise and burn some rubber.

#1 Alfa Romeo CUV Could Be On Its Way

The time of the Alfa Romeo off-roader could be upon us with the Italian marque’s parent company, Fiat Chrysler, trademarking the ‘Kamal’ name which is slated to be used for their upcoming crossover vehicles. The name was trademarked last month and those in the know say that it will be designated to an Alfa Romeo since the ‘Kamal’ name was used on a CUV (Compact Utility Vehicle) back in 2003. Whatever it is, we hope it will eventually look like the sexy Giulia SUV rendering above.

#2 Pagani Huayra BC On Ice

Forking out for a multi-million dollar hypercar requires a big bank balance. Driving it on the limit requires an even bigger set of balls. It’s for this reason that Pagani wanted to ensure that their hero car could stand the rigours of driving at the limit. So they brought it to the snow for a session. All 750hp of it. Watch below.

#3 TVR Teases A New Car For 2017

Those who grew up on Playstation’s Gran Tursimo series would know the exciting British car maker known as TVR. Well it went bankrupt a few years back and since been revived. The yet-to-be-named car set for release in 2017 will be a front-engined GT with a Cosworth powered 5.0-litre V8. Looks like Jaguar and Aston Martin will soon be getting some company. For now you get a teaser.

#4 VW GTI Clubsport S

We reported last week that the little hatchback that could broke the Nurburgring record for the fastest lap. Well now you have proof with VW releasing footage of the winning lap. Check it out below. It’s pretty terrible quality for an official video but the steering talent is definitely there.

#5 Fast & Furious 8 Reveals Scenes From Cuba

The franchise with nine lives is powering through just fine and to prove it, Vin Diesel and co. have released the latest behind the scenes footage from Cuba where scenes are currently being filmed. Looks like a bag of fun along with some killer star power – Jason Statham returns with Charlize Theron playing the new villain.
