#1 Renault Unveils A Surprise For The Monaco F1

Renault had tongues wagging earlier this week when they revealed images of a wild new hot hatch that is set to be unleashed at this week’s Monaco Grand Prix. Wild is probably an understatement given the body work on this special Clio RS which looks like it rolled right out of a world rally stage. No details have been released yet with the French car maker saying on social media that fans will just have to wait until its official unveiling on Friday. Early speculation says that the car will pack 185kW from its 1.6-litre turbo engine to go with the wide fenders and WRC-inspired rear wing. Hold on tight hot hatch fiends, the Frenchies are coming for you.

#2 Lamborghini Miuras Return To The Italian Job Scene

The Miura has officially turned 50 this year and in celebration of the momentous event, Lamborghini have hauled two of their museum pieces up St. Bernard Pass near the border with Switzerland for a fang. Not just any old fang though, no. They decided to recreate the scene from the original ‘The Italian Job’ starring Michael Caine with the fathers of the Miura, engineers Gian Paolo Dallara and Paolo Stanzani, along with designer Marcello Gandini of Carrozzeria Bertone. Now watch the original video below and weep like the grown man you are.

#3 Lapo Elkann Auctions Off His Garage Italia 458

It’s not like the heir to the Fiat empire needs the money, but for a good cause, Lapo Elkann has auctioned off his Garage Italia Customs 458 Italia for a cool million to help AIDS research. The deal went down at the 23rd annual Cinema Against AIDS charity event which straddles the curtails of the 2016 Cannes Film Festival. Elkann sold his camouflage supercar which also rocks a custom leather interior for $1.1 million to American billionaire investor, philanthropist and Clinton family friend.

#4 Gran Turismo Sport Becomes First FIA Sanctioned Game

The highest governing body of motorsport known as the FIA has teamed up with your childhood video game known as Gran Turismo to create the very first sanctioned online racing game. What this will mean for players is a much more realistic experience in a competitive environment which includes over 140 cars and concept vehicles duking it out across famed circuits from around the world. Real world physics, damage and vehicle dynamics will also be included in the game. Watch the cool trailer for it below.

#5 Bosch Create Their Own Electric Go-Kart

Formula One glory may be out of reach but that doesn’t mean you can’t try with the latest electric go-kart from German firm Bosch. As an FIA approved go-kart, the vehicle could drive the next generation of champion racers at the grassroots level. Or mean a lot of fun for thrill seekers. Twin electric motors ensure that torque is instantaneous whilst 0-100km/h is achievable in under five seconds. It’s a concept for now but nonetheless still very cool. Just shut up and take our money.
