It may be Mother’s Day this weekend. But, we’ve decided to celebrate the dad. Or, lovers of the dad-style: simple tailoring, comfortable casual wear and loud colours.
For ‘father-smart’, we’ve got an unstructured blazer in khaki wool and cotton-blend from Barena, and Kith NYC‘s new cargo pant, reworked in active fabric-black and with streamline pockets for an update on the daggy pant. Teamed with Noah‘s green-and-pink sweatshirt and you’ve got something garishly-coloured, that even your son might steal.
Back to classic, J.Crew‘s urban chinos are quintessentially dad-y. Cut in a classic straight-leg fit from a heavily washed cotton twill, the desert-clay chinos are a far cry from the type of pants that dads detest: skater-skinny jeans and ripped-up denim.
Which leads us to the other type: daddy-cool (or mid-life-crises daddy who so badly wants to be twenty again). The Dimanche Skate Co.’s has these dads covered with a red-on-white ‘Paris’ skate deck, to take you back to your skate park days. Or, it makes for a stylish artwork on your dad-cave wall. Très cool.
