We know a thing or two about golf courses here at D’Marge but giant alligators? Not so much. In an odd occurrence which perfectly justifies the ‘Only In America’ tag, a massive five metre alligator has been filmed casually strolling through Buffalo Creek Golf Course in Florida.
Naturally the internet is in a frenzy as to the authenticity of the video but early reports from local media who spoke to the course’s pro shop employees say that the beast is a local and absolutely chill with the going-ons around it. They even added that the animal aptly nicknamed ‘Goliath’ is seen as their mascot.
“He has been here for a very, very long time, he’s not new at all. There have been guesses that he’s 15 to 16 feet long,” one course employee told the media.
Sceptics of the insane video do need to realise that Florida’s warm climate region is ideal for alligators to inhabit and other golf courses have seen similar sightings. The biggest recorded sighting in the region prior to this video was a 4.2-metre alligator weighing in at 350kg.
