Motorcycle enthusiasts Belstaff are back with a Spring/Summer 2017 collection only for the bravest of men. Inspired by Bruce Brown’s seminal 1971 motorcycle film ‘On Any Sunday’ starring bonafide style icon Steve McQueen, Belstaff SS17 is perfect for the carefree man from on and off the bike tracks.
Belstaff references the film’s washed out colour palette throughout the collection as well as motorcycle customisation of the late 60’s and key design details from the brand’s archives.
“This season we were really taken by the 1971 documentary On Any Sunday which starred and was funded by Steve McQueen, himself a motorcycle fanatic. That period was also a defining time for Belstaff because leather manufacturers on both sides of the Atlantic were really embracing this idea of personalising leatherwear and so began an era of strong colour direction which we’ve really tapped into for summer,” explained Frederik Dyhr, Belstaff VP Men’s Design.
Endorsed by modern men of style like David Gandy and Johannes Huebl, Belstaff SS17 features statement printed leather jackets, rugged denim in blue and white, military-style outerwear and basics perfect for layering before you ride into the sunset.
