Would you stand strong in the face of a towering wave for a photograph? Or walk amongst elephants? Or peer over the edge of a 700-metre cliff? This week, daring Instagrammers did all that and more in search of the perfect snap.
The cliff is the famous Trolltunga, a Norwegian rock formation that was once dubbed the most stunning place in the world to take a selfie. The pachyderms can be found in Chiang Mai, at an ecotourism park and wildlife sanctuary dedicated to the survival and development of Thai elephants. For the water wall, visit Virginia Beach and don’t forget your (waterproof) camera.
After all that adventure, you’ll be in need of some R&R. Relax on a picturesque beach on the Amalfi Coast or bask on the deck of your own private water villa at Meeru Island Resort & Spa in the Maldives.
For true peace, you’ll need to get away from it all. And we really mean all. Try the Faroe Islands, where a furry animal friend is your only companion, or a serene lake in El Grado, Spain. If all else fails, there’s always the vast and empty desert around Dubai. It may be parched, but what it lacks in moisture it makes up for in beauty from above.
