If you haven’t heard of Eddie Redmayne, firstly, where the bloody hell have you been lately? And secondly, it’s high time you get familiar because the British actor is popping up everywhere. Most recently, the Danish Girl star has lent his talents, and chiselled jaw, to Prada‘s Autumn/Winter campaign.
The Academy Award-winning actor appears in the campaign, which debuted at Milan Men’s Fashion Week earlier this year, in a collection of Prada essentials: pop colour knitwear and elbow-patched wools, an epic leather coat, shearling-lined uniform jackets, panelled brogues, cropped trousers and print short-sleeved shirts influenced by a heroic maritime history.
“(The collection) was like an excursion through history to find the moments that were heroic, passionate, difficult, to reflect what happened in history to see if we have something to learn about what’s happening now,” said Miuccia Prada backstage at the show.
“Redmayne is no stranger to immersing himself in historically significant characters…(He), here, assumed a number of roles: hero, villain, revolutionary,” Prada says. We couldn’t agree more.
