Brrr. Winter has officially descended upon the land down under. And we’re not really ready for it (unless you’re ok with last year’s I-wore-it-everyday winter coat). In the mood for something new, this weekend’s shopping edit embraces winter style.
Speaking of that coat, go this season’s light grey, via a wool-cashmere blend with slight dropped shoulder from luxury newcomer Cmmn Swedn. Incotex flannel trousers in charcoal are work-to-weekend ready, paired with a Brioni Oxford lace-ups in dusty red and Berluti’s burnished briefcase in jade green, both nice alternatives to black leather.
Sandro‘s leather jacket comes conveniently cropped for an edgy Saturday night out; a melange of two casual icons – the harrington (via the symmetrical zip and shirt collar) and the perfecto (buttery lambskin). So, it’s perfect for the gent who can’t decide.
Levi’s customised 501’s give a tapered shape to the vintage, blue jean and the Lanvin boot is the Chelsea à la français, Paris-chic, not desert urban cowboy. Unless, of course, you invest in the hibiscus Saint Laurent western chemise – a statement floral shirt in floaty silk, easily subdued under Gucci‘s textured-knit cotton sweater. Bring on the snow.
