British actor Benedict Cumberbatch is set to make his Marvel debut in Doctor Strange, an action adventure film that follows the story of neurosurgeon Doctor Stephen who, after a horrific car accident, discovers the hidden world of magic and alternate dimensions.
The film’s trailer, which debuted at this year’s Comic-Con, has us all on the edge of our seats, and whilst it seems strikes a similar chord to DiCaprio’s 2010 blockbuster Inception, Doctor Strange still harks back that classic Marvel sci-fi style brought into modernity.
“Stephen Strange’s story requires an actor capable of great depth and sincerity,” said Producer Kevin Feige. “In 2016, Benedict will show audiences what makes Doctor Strange such a unique and compelling character.”
Cumberbatch, who rose to international fame in the Emmy-award TV series Sherlock, is joined by Rachel McAdams, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Tilda Swinton and Mads Mikkelson in Doctor Strange, which is set to hit cinemas on November 4.
