For those living under a rock (or just have a life outside of tabloid TV), a new Bachelor has arrived on our shores and his name is Richie Strahan.
The 31-year-old rope access technician from Perth shot to fame after being unceremoniously rejected by Sam Frost in the 2015 series finale of Australia’s The Bachelorette. As all things in life go though, there was a silver lining. Strahan has returned as this year’s Bachelor charged with fending off hoards of women vying for his heart and washboard abs in no particular order.
How does a man reach this level of greatness? Get abs. Or join a reality TV show. Or you could just dress well like the guy; something we can definitely help you with today.
Breaking It Down
Richie Strahan’s style exudes modern Australian cues throughout. It’s a look in its infancy which has seen growth in the past few years, taking the typically rugged canvas of the Aussie male and dressing it up with clean and well-fitted garments. The ‘Australianess’ comes in with the perennially laid back look which suits the liking of most Aussie men out there. It’s cool, relaxed and not too dressy, but still classy.
Starting left we have have Strahan’s weekend threads kept ultra simple but with quality garments. It’s a great combination of colours which brings out Strahan’s athletic physique that a lot of fitter Australian guys have today. Scoring the look is a breeze too with just three pieces from three of Australia’s leading labels – Calibre top, Zanerobe joggers and white Aquila sneakers.
Next we have a more formal affair with Strahan appearing at the Logies in a classic black tux. The crucial point here is to get the fitting right. The tux can be made to stand out a bit more with a bow tie featuring tiny specks of silver whilst a paisley pocket square will round things out nicely. Gloss up those dress shoes to complete the look.
Finally there’s Strahan’s midweek outfit which sees a pairing of garments to satisfy both work and play. It has a slight Californian feel to it with a chambray shirt paired with khaki chinos and sunnies. The look is of course elevated with the help of a fitted blazer, bright pocket square and monk strap shoes. Slap on a pair of cool wayfarers and you’ve scored The Bachelor look on the move.
