As far as guest houses go, none can be more audacious than YOD Studio’s latest effort simply called Guest House 2.0.
The unconventional living space is situated in the forests of Poltava, Ukraine, where it borrows from the surrounding environment to create a seamlessly integrated space that is both subtle on the outside but beautifully designed on the inside.
The house is built from lightweight wood which sits on an innovative screw bases – a technique allowing the structure to be built right up close to pine trees without damaging them.
Stepping inside will reveal a minimalist design language with floor to ceiling windows taking full advantage of the views and natural lighting. The centre piece is of course the walls which feature wooden squares set against a matte black wall and black furniture.
The wood plank ceiling adds a much welcome touch of organic meets contemporary design to the space which does a fine job of waking up in style.
The home was completed this year and more info on its development can be found at YOD Studio.
