The Man. The Myth. The Legend. John Wick has returned in the hotly anticipated sequel to the 2014 surprise hit which saw Keanu Reeves killing a hell of a lot of bad guys with guns – because said people stole his car and then killed his dog.
It’s essentially a thinly plotted revenge story but executed in such a refreshingly violent and stylish way that audiences will cheer for the main protagonist, played by the perennially ashen-faced Keanu Reeves. In chapter two Wick is again forced out of retirement when a former associate plots to take control of a shadowy international assassins’ guild.
Sworn by blood to help this person, Wick heads to Rome where he takes on some of the world’s deadliest assassins in a bloody gun fight that’s bound to make up a good portion of the film. The film directed by avid stunt guys Chad Stahelski and David Leitch also comes with a pretty effective supporting cast in the form of rapper Common, Ian McShane, John Leguizamo and yes, Morpheus himself, Laurence Fishburne (which the internet is currently freaking out over and calling The Matrix 4).
The film is due for release at the beginning of 2017.
