Barbara Palvin For Sports Illustrated

Full screen

The 2017 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition is here and Kate Upton is making headlines for her covers – which mark her third time taking the coveted position, and ironically feature barely any swimsuits at all.

But Ms. Upton isn’t the only woman we’re keeping an eye on. At sixty-three years old, model Christie Brinkley appears in the issue accompanied by her two daughters. Ashley Graham returns after becoming the first plus-size model to grace the cover of the Swimsuit Edition last year. Athletes Simone Biles, Serena Williams, and Caroline Wozniacki show off their hard-earned figures.

Victoria’s Secret lent Sports Illustrated some of its superstars for 2017, including Lais Ribeiro and Nina Agdal (who was named the issue’s ‘Rookie of the Year’ back in 2012 and appeared on the cover in 2014). Models with celebrity connections were also a theme this year, with Brinkley’s daughters Alexa Ray Joel and Sailor Brinkley Cook each getting individual spreads, as well as Derek Jeter’s wife Hannah.

And then there’s Barbara Palvin. The 23-year-old Budapest-born brunette won ‘Rookie of the Year’ for last year’s Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition and is back to remind fans why she earned the crown. She hit the stunning shores of Curaçao with photographer Ben Watts to show this year’s crop of rookies how it’s done.

Check out Barbara’s shoot above, and the full list of 2017’s models on the Sports Illustrated website.
