Breitling is following hot on the heels of this year’s slew of revival pieces coming from Baselworld with a throwback of their own.
The Swiss watchmaker presented a faithful redesign of their Superocean Héritage II in four distinct colours and two sizes, a move that should satisfy the most discerning tastes in horology today whilst paying tribute to 60th anniversary.
On the surface the new Superocean Héritage II collection exudes cleaner aesthetics than their aviation range with an uncluttered dial and contrast indexes making legibility a main priority for wearers who are braving the seas or the outdoors.
These are four variations the watch comes in based on 42mm and 46mm sizes.
Superocean Héritage II 42
This 42mm piece comes with a stainless steel case paired with a ceramic unidirectional bezel and stainless steel Ocean Classic bracelet. In the watch only format the movement affords the timepiece hours, minutes and seconds counters finished with luminescent coating. Water resistance meanwhile is rated at a very respectable 200 metres.
The Superocean Héritage II 42 will retail for AU$6,310 whilst the bigger version in the Superocean Héritage II 46 will sport the same credentials in a bolder 46mm model for AU$5,870.
Superocean Héritage II Chronographe
The chronograph variant of the Superocean Héritage II comes only in a 46mm stainless steel case but two very different colours.
A black dial version accompanies a black ceramic bezel which pairs seamlessly to the chronograph counters at the 6, 9 and 12 o’clock marks. The 3 o’clock position is reserved for a small date window. This chronograph model comes with a stainless steel Ocean Classic bracelet and retails for AU$8,140.
Breitling also offer the same chronograph in a brown face and bezel variant accompanied by a brown rubber leather strap. This particular piece comes in at AU$7,870.
