The city of Basel in Switzerland’s northwest is synonymous with the rich heritage of luxury watchmaking.
One would find it odd then that sneakers would ever coincide with Baselworld, one of the world’s largest exhibitions for the world’s most coveted watchmakers.
Well that day has seemingly arrived. Swiss-based sneaker boutique Titolo Shop have just opened up their first flagship store in Basel ahead of next week’s 2017 Baselworld convention.
The move, which isn’t a coincidence, should prove a welcome surprise to horology-loving sneakerheads who are continually iinnovating their looks in the men’s style space by pairing luxe streetwear with the latest in high-end watches.
And from the limited photos on Instagram, the formula appears to be working. Hoards of customers swamped the former cafe space over the opening weekend, lining up outside in order to score the chance to acquire some of the most sought after sneakers to drop in recent times.
Even the new store’s interior decor mimics that of Baselworld’s dramatic displays with popular sneaker silhouettes shown off through glass cloches dotted around the space.
Those keen on checking out the kicks whilst on their way to the mecca of horology this year can head over to the new store address at Steinenvorstadt 30, 4051 Basel, Switzerland.
