Get your plastic ready gentleman. It’s time for the week’s greatest hit of tech and toys made for money burning. From a carbon triathlon bike to a home dry ager, this is Shut Up & Take My Money.
Canyon Ultimate CF SLX Kraftwerk
German bicycle maker Canyon have teamed up with band Kraftwerk in an unorthodox partnership to showcase a new concept in design and rider functionality. The Ultimate CF SLX Kraftwerk borrows from the Grand Tour-winning carbon fibre frame and pairs it with race-ready components and Kratfwerk’s signature aesthetic complete with geometric patterns and a reflective monochrome colour scheme which is hand-applied over seven hours for each bike. The bike’s winning pedigree will also extend to the Tour De France with Tony Martin riding a Speedmax CF SLX bearing the same design.
Home Dry Ager Fridge
Now you can rest your meat and eat it too. The secret behind a good steak is the ageing process and now meat lovers can get one for the home with the German made Dry Ager Fridge. The slick stainless design of the unit won’t look out of place in any modern home whilst curious onlookers can peak through the tinted glass door to witness the process in real time. The fridge also comes equipped with precise temperature, airflow and humidity control to ensure proper ageing whilst a carbon filter and ventilated disinfection system plays back up to sterilise the circulating air on a minute basis to eradicate bacteria. The fridges come in two models that can hold either 20kg or 100kg of meat.
Douchebags By Jon Olsson
Known for his antics behind the wheel, little would know that Norwegian professional ski racer Jon Olsson also has how own travel bag brand in his signature black, grey and white camo print. The latest collection includes a limited edition boot bag, smart backpack, carry-on, and weekend duffle which are as robust as they can get. Guaranteed to help you standout wherever you may globe trot.
Another week, another personal flying craft. This time around it’s the Workhorse Surefly showing off its solution to future mobility. The drone-like craft is a two-seater which runs on a petrol engine that powers eight independent electric motors. There’s on board batteries as a backup power source as well as an emergency parachute shall things go seriously awry. Range is currently just over 100km with a flight time of one hour.
Trust the Belgians to know how to re-imagine and build a proper bike with this Frankenstein Ducati XDiavel cruiser. The Thieveral is built in black with an exposed engine and a mix of angular matte and chrome panels. The result is a bike which looks like it rolled straight out of Blade Runner complete with illuminated trapezoidal tail lights.
Homemade Drift Trike
You can’t exactly buy this since it was made in a backyard by a crew of lunatics, but if you tried hard enough with a few unwanted swivel chairs, you could probably pull it off. DevinSupertramp teamed up with the Rad Cows for this drift trike video which sees masked strangers with balls of steel hitting speeds of up to 80km/h – sans brakes. Godspeed.
