The quest for the coolest toys money can buy continues with Shut Up & Take My Money. This week it’s all about the slick Dior skateboard decks, an insane Aston Martin soapbox racer a new Porsche 911 exhaust speaker and more. Treat yourself before you wreck yourself.
Aston Martin Racing Soapbox Racer
Forget Goodwood. Those who can’t afford Bond’s wheels of choice can opt for the next best thing – an Aston Martin V8 Vantage GTE soapbox racer custom-built by Aston Martin Racing to proper Red Bull Soapbox Derby spec. What’s even cooler is that it’s carbon neutral since it doesn’t have a power unit and relies solely on gravity and a driver’s sheer will to get things rolling. Once it does though, you better be prepared for some serious air time as shown below.
Dior Summer 18′ Skate Decks
His eponymous sneaker label may have left us but Belgian fashion designer Kris Van Assche is still doing his finest work for the menswear label Dior Homme. His latest project? The French label’s Summer 2018 skateboard decks. Be sure to keep an eye out for them at a selected Dior boutiques in the coming months.
Porsche 911 GT3 Exhaust Speaker
Bring the sound of Stuttgart to your home with this official Porsche Design 911 GT3 exhaust speaker which features the actual exhaust tip from the German supercar. The speaker is naturally Bluetooth 4.0 enabled and comes complete with apt-X technology, NFC pairing, 60-watts of power and 24 hours of battery life. It’s also pretty solid at 3kg so it’s best left at home to be marvelled upon.
Pirelli 1900 Techno RIB
Pirelli have taken their expertise in rubber to the seas with the Technorib 1900, a sleek RIB which sports luxury cues in an inflatable and almost indestructible craft. The final version is due to be unveiled at the Cannes Boat Show in September but if the early designs remain true the 1900 will be an 18.5m boat powered by twin 800hp MAN i6 engines to get to speeds of 45 knots. The sunbathing deck is a bonus.
Panasonic Nanoe X Self-Cleansing Hanger
Panasonic have created the perfect coat hanger for the time-poor (see: straight up lazy bastard). Nanoe X is a coat hanger but not as you know it. It ‘deodorises’ your clothes using negatively charged particles or ions which gather moisture from the air, causing the elimination of odours from sweat and cigarettes without damaging the fibres. The process takes 5-7 hours hours of hang time with a special cover to help trap the nanoe particles for more efficient cleaning. It might not remove stains but it sure as hell is pretty awesome for luggage in transit.
Nikka Coffey Gin & Vodka
You’ve heard of their famed Japanese coffey whisky and now you can extend your drinking palette with Nikka’s latest Vodka and Gin range. The gin was created by Masataka Taketsuru, and features a distinct aroma that is achievable only by direct heating distillation. The whisky meanwhile is comprised of 11 different botanicals including yuzu, sansho pepper, kabosu, amanatsu, and shequasar from Japan. Definitely one to sample before prices skyrocket as with most in-demand Japanese drinks.
