Robert Downey Jr.’s Real House Is Nothing Like Tony Stark’s Mansion

He’s literally got a fan.

He’s known the world over as Marvel’s genius, billionaire, playboy, philanthropist who suits up to become Tony Stark (and sometimes Iron Man).

In the real world though actor Robert Downey Jr. is a father of three who likes astrology. He’s also not quite a billionaire yet, but he’s close. As the sixth highest paid actor in Hollywood, Downey Jr. has come a long way since his drug and alcohol addiction that led him to a short stint in jail.

Proof of this can be his latest interview with Architectural Digest who recently had the pleasure of stepping into the 52-year-old’s Hampton holiday home. The most surprising aspect? It can’t be any more far removed from his on-screen character’s state-of-the-art mansion complete with J.A.R.V.I.S, toys and weapons.

What we have here is Downey Jr.’s 19th century windmill home which has been renovated for modern living standards without losing its quirky charm. Think mod-art pieces from Os Games and Shepard Fairey alongside a scary number of cats.
