Finest Watches You Can Get For Under $1,000 Right Now

Stay on time without breaking the bank.

No one is born rich. Okay, some are, but for the rest of us there are transitionary timepieces – the watches which introduce one’s journey into the vast world of precision timekeeping.

We’re talking about the magic $1,000 mark – a price point which demonstrates watches with a distinct character and certain build quality without breaking the bank.

Alpina Startimer Pilot Chronograph

We’re just going to go out and say it. If you can’t afford an IWC Big Pilot then the Alpina Startimer Pilot Chronograph is the watch to get. The watch presents very similar aesthetics without the big price tag whilst still being Swiss made. The trade-off? A 44mm stainless steel case houses the Alpina calibre AL-372 quartz movement as opposed to an automatic movement. The Alpina movement still does a fine job though with chronograph functions that display 60 seconds, 30 minutes and 1/10th of a second. The hours, minutes and seconds hands including the markers are all finished in white to contrast with a striking blue dial. The watch is polished off with a scratch resistant sapphire crystal and a brown leather strap with contrast stitching.

Case: Stainless steel
Size: 44mm
Functions: Chronograph, date, hour, minutes, seconds
Water resistance: 100m

Movement is sorted with a Frederique Constant calibre FC-285 quartz movement and finished off with scratch resistant sapphire crystal.
