Bell & Ross Release The Most Aussie Watch They’ve Ever Made

Aussie Aussie Aussie! French watch brand Bell & Ross have just unveiled a remarkably Antipodean (and rather luxurious) new take on their BR 05 sports watch at Watches & Wonders Geneva 2023.

This year’s edition of Watches & Wonders is the biggest yet, with a record-breaking 48 brands present at the world’s biggest watch fair. One brand exhibiting for the first time at the fair is Bell & Ross, who’ve brought a smattering of new tool watches to the table… As well as a few bougie pieces, too.

Of their releases, however, one caught our eye more than any other: the new BR 05 Green Gold, which, as the name implies, features a green and gold colour scheme that we suspect Australians will immediately gravitate towards.

First of all, let’s talk about that gold: 18ct yellow gold, to be precise. There’s just something kind of fun about a gold Bell & Ross. The brand has such a minimalist aesthetic and is so focused on tool watches that seeing a big lump of gold from them is something special.

The BR 05 Green Gold is luxe, but oddly understated.

The green dial is a cracker, too. Not all green dials are made equal and B&R’s is fair dinkum: a dark, lustrous green achieved by multiple layers of varnish and a pronounced sunray effect that goes from bottle green to almost a light gold depending on how it catches the light.

Of course, we just love how green and gold are Australia’s sporting colours (although we reckon Brazilian watch fans will also find plenty to love about this new hunk of precious metal).

B&R are on to a winner here. Integrated bracelets are all the rage right now and the BR 05 is a pretty compelling example. Having a gold option – especially one with such a delicious dial – makes it even more compelling.
