Hublot is channeling its football roots for the unveiling of its first ever smart watch – that’s right, no complications, no fancy moving parts.
The Big Bang Referee 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia (that’s the actual name) will be able to track the matches in real time, connecting the wearer to all of the drama via their wrist candy.
Think push notifications like announcing matches 15 minutes before kick-off, yellow and red cards announcements, player changes and goals. The latter of those sends a vibration to the watch whilst a ‘GOAL’ flashes on the screen whenever your team scores. There’s even comprehensive match statistics to ponder over during the game.
The watches will also be worn by the referees on the pitch, hence the name, and limited to just 2018 pieces.
Besides the Intel Atom processor which provides all of the bells and whistles of a bonafide smart watch, this particular piece is also compatible with both Android and iOS. A lithium-ion battery provides about one day of juice before requiring a charge that lasts for about 1 hour and 50 minutes from zero to full capacity.
The external is where most of the attention will be garnered though. A 49mm satin brushed titanium case wears the six signature screws of Hublot whilst topped off with a black composite bezel lug.
Different dial faces can be chosen via 35.3mm AMOLED display.
The Big Bang Referee 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia will officially land in Hublot outlets on May 1.
