Ever since attending a Hugo Boss runway roused his interest in fashion as a means of self-expression, Formula 1 driver Lewis Hamilton has become a global trendsetter, going to public events with outfits that stand out and make a strong statement.

If he isn’t wearing the, arguably quite fashionable, Mercedes race gear, Lewis Hamilton can be seen donning popular brands such as Valentino, Dior, Prada, and Kenzo. But the 7-time world champion also likes the outfits from young designers such as Kenneth Nicholson, Edvin Thompson, and Jason Rembert.

Lewis Hamilton Tommy Hilfiger

Hamilton met iconic American fashion designer Tommy Hilfiger at the 2018 New York Fashion Week and the two immediately clicked. Lewis signed as a brand ambassador for Hilfiger while the American brand became the outfitting sponsor of Hamilton’s Formula One Team. The two have collaborated for the Tommy X Lewis collection which focuses on celebrating individuality.

The fourth collection between Hilfiger and Hamilton included Grammy-winning musician H.E.R and was called Tommy X Lewis X H.E.R. The collection used 100% organic cotton, thus minimizing environmental impact. Aside from the usual red, white, and blue colours of Hilfiger, that collection featured colour schemes of black and bright green while showcasing a vibrant and stylish design.

+44 Lewis Hamilton’s Fashion Line

In 2022, Hamilton launched his own clothing brand called +44. For this venture, Hamilton partnered with Japanese contemporary artist Takashi Murakami. Murakami is known as one of the top designers in the street culture and has collaborated with the likes of Pharell Williams, Justin Bieber, and Kanye West among others.

Lewis Hamilton tweeted “SO EXCITED FOR THIS. LFG !! #Plus44” to announce the collaboration.

The first collection centered around the “Psychedelic Speed Demon” theme which celebrated Hamilton’s world in warp speed. Released in late 2022, the limited collection consisted of six pieces including short and long sleeves, a hoodie, and a jacket. +44 dropped its second collection called “The Vegas Trip” in time for the 2023 Las Vegas Grand Prix on November 18, 2023. The collection included 27 pieces of hoodies, t-shirts, long sleeves, and accessories which were all inspired by Sin City’s bright aesthetic.
