Alert Australian watch fans: the most exclusive version of the hottest watch in recent memory is soon going to be available Down Under.

The BIOCERAMIC MoonSwatch collection – a collection of 11 Swatches modelled after the iconic OMEGA Speedmaster Professional Moonwatch that each represent a planetary body in our solar system – has been the single biggest watch release in yonks. It’s been an absolute phenomenon.

We didn’t think Swatch could possibly top it… Until March this year, that is, when Swatch unveiled an exclusive, luxurious take on the Mission to the Moon variant called the Mission To Moonshine Gold, which was even more limited and hard to get than the original bunch of MoonSwatches upon release.

When it launched in March, it was only available to be purchased in person in London, Milan, Tokyo and Zürich: all cities connected with the historical gold trade. Naturally, anyone who wasn’t in these cities has been kicking themselves that they’ve missed out on such a hot watch.

Never fear. Swatch has just announced a second drop for the Mission To Moonshine Gold, revealing the next batch of cities that’ll be getting the coveted watch… And Sydney, Australia is one of them.

When is the Mission To Moonshine Gold launching in Australia?

The Swatch x OMEGA BIOCERAMIC MoonSwatch Mission To Moonshine Gold will be available at the Swatch Store on Sydney’s Pitt Street Mall from 7:00 PM AEDT on Thursday, April 6th.

There’s no word how much stock the Sydney store will get, but we suspect it won’t be a lot.

Last year, we saw lines snake around the block in Sydney for the MoonSwatch, so we suspect there’ll be similarly lengthy lines this time around.

How much does the Mission To Moonshine Gold cost?

When the first drop Mission To Moonshine Gold hit stores overseas, it sold for 10% more than a standard MoonSwatch. A MoonSwatch is currently priced in Australia at $395, so we can expect the Mission To Moonshine Gold to go for around $435.

What makes the Mission To Moonshine Gold different?

The Mission To Moonshine Gold MoonSwatch is based on the Mission to the Moon model (which is itself the MoonSwatch most faithful to the original OMEGA Speedmaster Professional Moonwatch)… But with a key difference.

It has a seconds hand made of OMEGA’s proprietary Moonshine Gold, giving it a subtle but luxurious touch. Swatch claims that each special seconds hand has been produced exclusively during a full moon – with each watch coming with a special certificate that attests as such.

Where else will the Mission To Moonshine Gold be available?

Apart from Sydney, the Swatch x OMEGA BIOCERAMIC MoonSwatch Mission To Moonshine Gold will be available at Swatch stores in Berlin, Geneva, Macau, Madrid, Mexico City, New York City, Rome, Seoul, Toronto and Yokohama.
