Player Bio
Born on April 28, 2000, in Cowra, New South Wales, Australia, Ellie Carpenter is an exceptional young talent in Australian women’s football.
Career
Carpenter made her debut in the W-League at the age of 15, becoming the youngest player to participate in the competition, starting twelve games in her debut season for Western Sydney Wanderers. Carpenter also made her debut for the Matildas the same year: the country’s first international player – male or female – to be born in the 21st century.
A two-time Olympian, Carpenter impresses with her marauding runs from the right-back position, solid defensive work, and pin-point delivery when going forward.
After recovering from an ACL injury that kept her out for over eight months, Carpenter has returned to club and international football this year, looking to recover some of her best form that saw her lighting up the biggest stadiums in Europe. This will be Carpenter’s second FIFA Women’s World Cup.
Her Partner
She advises her followers to love and be loved while flaunting her significant other, Daniëlle Van de Donk. At the beginning of 2024, she proposed and got engaged to Danielle. She also flaunts her female friends as she is amazed by how beautiful they all are.
Injury
She sustained a rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament during the UWCL tournament in late May 2022. After qualifying for the WFA Women’s League, Ellie took a break from football to heal her body.
Collaboration
The star had a shoot with Porsche Sydney. She doubles as the ambassador of Rebel Sport and Nike. She also participated in an interview held by Visa Australia. It was a question and answer session with Ellie educating her fans on some updates about herself and the clubs she plays for. She is glad to be representing Visa Australia. She wrapped up 2022 by being part of the Xbox series. She visited the Mediterranean Sea in the south of France afterward.
Ellie, OL Féminin & Matildas
Ellie was part of the French female team, OL Féminin, which won the UEFA Champions League of 2021/2022. OL Féminin proceeded to win the Coupe de France Féminine, a female tournament in France. She and her teammates had a celebratory dinner after the win. The Matildas, the Australian female team, participated in a tournament with Ellie. They advanced to the finals but didn’t win the cup. As part of the Matildas, she’ll be present at the 2024 Paris World Cup as the Matildas qualified. She also had another collaboration with Nike and Rebel Sport.
