TAG Heuer Celebrates 55 Years Of Carrera With A New Chronograph GMT

It’s been 55 years since the very first Heuer Carrera hit the scene in a bid to reinvigorate the company’s chronograph line.

The latest watch to be born from that movement is the new TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph GMT, a beautifully presented traveller’s piece which sports a chronograph, GMT complications, TAG Heuer’s new Heuer 02 movement and a striking black and blue GMT dual-tone bezel which seems to be a big trend at this year’s show.

Vintage-inspired? Never heard of it. The Carrera Chronograph GMT is another nod to TAG’s avant-garde approach reflected in a skeletonised movement that almost looks futuristic thanks to contrasting layers.

On the inside the movement affords an hours, minutes, seconds, date, chronograph and GMT function via the red hand. It also boasts an impressive 75 hour power reserve.

The beefy housing is an all stainless steel affair set in at 45mm in diameter and paired with the aforementioned ceramic bezel and matching stainless steel lugs. The watch is rated at 100 metres water resistance and can be had in either a steel bracelet or rubber strap.
