Daniil Medvedev Admits He Is Jealous Of Marton Fucsovics’ Muscles

Daniil Medvedev showed a bit of his human side after his latest Australian Open match, admitting he doesn’t quite have muscles like Hungarian hunk Marton Fucsovics.

Daniil Medvedev is easily annoyed. Previously coming across as aloof, angry and arrogant, he’s not a crowd favourite. He even told one fan to “f**k off” in his first Australian Open game after being heckled.

But we just saw his human side and I have to find myself warming up to him. I, like Medvedev, also covet Marton Fuctovics’ muscles. But Medvedev describes it best so we’ll let him take over mytho (or is it musco) poetic duties from here.

On the on-court microphone after his latest game, where he showed off his body after winning, Medvedev joked: “I also thought about… a lot of people saw on social media photos of Marton after his match… Fucsovics… looked like Thor. Yeah, I think I’m just a little bit… less muscles than him so it was also to laugh about myself because I must see the photo. I do think I have a little bit of muscles but definitely not too much!”

This came after Medvedev beat John Millman in straight sets, putting him through to round three. After the 7-5, 6-2, 6-2 victory Medvedev lifted up his shorts showing off his legs.

“Sometimes I cramp, and sometimes I’m not strong enough to finish the match,” he explained after the game. “But this one, I felt amazing, physically, so I was trying to show off that strength.”

Medvedev later added: “I’m not going to tell it here, but… I’m capable of doing weights where if you see me, you won’t be able to believe I’m doing this. In the way, my muscles develop. I know it because I can run faster, stronger for longer time and not get as injured as I was in the beginning of my career. That was the goal with my physical coach.”

Thor-blimey.
