Kai Cenat Jovi Pena Rape Controversy
Kai Cenat was involved in a rape controversy involving Tiktoker Jovi Pena. According to reports, Pena attended a New Year’s Eve party hosted by Cenat. After the event, Cenat allegedly told Pena not to go home because she was too drunk while offering her to sleep in one of the rooms upstairs. Pena then claimed that a certain Djigui Seck or Jiggy, who was a guest at the party, entered the room while she was asleep and violently raped her.
Pena claimed that Cenat failed to cooperate when she asked him details about her perpetrator who happened to be Kai’s friend. Cenat was also accused on social media of possibly hindering a potential investigation into the allegations.
Cenat later replied via live stream and said that his lack of response was because he consulted the matter with the proper authorities, the police and his lawyer. He also said that he didn’t want the alleged incident to go public while also admitting that Jiggy has been a friend of his since high school. He denied any knowledge of the incident.
Kai Cenat Incites a Riot in New York
Kai Cenat was charged by New York authorities with riot, inciting to riot, and unlawful assembly after a giveaway event descended into chaos on 4 August 2023, at New York’s Union Square.
The incident began with Cenat inviting his fans and followers to converge on the pre-determined location for a gaming console-giving event. In a video posted on 3 August 2023, the social media influencer boasted that he would give away computers, Playstation 5s, microphones, keyboards, webcams, gaming chairs, headphones, and gift cards from a parked truck in Union Square.
Thousands of people, mostly teenagers, showed up for Cenat’s giveaway event but the gathering turned violent when fans started jumping on top of vehicles, throwing bottles, stones and tins of paint, and attacking each other.
New York Police Department issued a “level four” mobilisation, resulting in roughly 1,000 officers deployed to the scene.
During a live stream inside a vehicle near Union Square, Cenat told his thousands of converging fans: “They’re throwing tear gas out there. We’re not going to do nothing until it’s safe. Everybody for themselves, because it’s a war out there man.”
The NYPD arrested 65 people – including 30 juveniles – with several police officers and civilians injured in the riot. The FDNY said that six people were taken to nearby hospitals as a result of the riot.
Of course, Cenat was taken into custody on 4 August 2023 but was released early the next day after being issued a desk appearance ticket. The ticket requires Cenat to appear in court to answer the charges against him. Per reports, Cenat’s court appearance is slated for 18 August 2023.
In a statement issued on Saturday, the AMP group said:
“We are deeply disheartened by the outbreak of disorderly conduct that affected innocent people and businesses and do not condone that behavior. We apologize to all of those impacted. We are fully cooperating with local authorities.”
Meanwhile, Cenat posted an Instagram story sharing the news coverage of the incident while saying “Please be safe.” and “I love you guys to the fullest. You guys are amazing.”
Cenat and Kanye Brawls
Cenat had disagreements with Kanye West, aka YE. YE claimed Cenat had dissed his clothing line after sending him a package of clothes from his store. Cenat insisted that he wasn’t dissing; he only complained that the sweatshirt did not fit. YE went ahead to curse, calling him a pawn and a setup to ruin his clothing line. At some point, Cenat did agree to his accusation by saying YES. While YE continued with the brawl, accusing Cenat of refusing to play his song “VULTURE” since its release as well. Cenat stuck to the clothing issue—the sweats didn’t fit. Later on, YE’s manager tried reconciling both parties.

Cenat and Jamaica
On his visit to Jamaica, Jamaicans criticized him on the social app for mocking their culture. In a live video, Cenat argued that some random person who isn’t Jamaican would make a tweet and every single person would support him. In defense, he stated that his mother was from Trinidad and Tobago, while his dad was from Haiti. He grew up in the culture, so he couldn’t have disrespected what he had interacted with all his life. He stated that he always claimed he was from Spain because his friends were strictly from Spain.
Cenat and Nigeria
Cenat also visited Nigeria. He was nicknamed “Femi Omo Werey” upon arrival by Emmanuel Adesokun, popularly known as Shank comics. Davido also welcomed and hung out with Cenat.
