Just as the the U.S have their annual Burning Man Festival where thousands of art lovers, musicians, photographers and Earth-loving dwellers gather to celebrate all things simple, Hawaii also have their own street art festival. POW! WOW! Hawai’i is an annual event that takes place in Honolulu and draws in artists and media partners from across the world. The goal? To celebrate all things art, music and culture. All under the immaculate Hawaiian sun of course.
This year saw over 100 artists and exhibitions with major surf and streetwear label RVCA teaming up with 1XRun and The Seventh Letter to showcase artists’ journeys through their work.
Just as Burning Man burn a giant mural at the end of the event, POW WOW! celebrate their closure a bit more traditionally – a giant block party that sees the local streets sprawling with local bands and art.
