If your motto has always been ‘When it’s right it’s right. Why wait until the middle of a cold dark night’, then we’ve got good news for you. A little bit of afternoon delight is apparently just what the doctor ordered, with experts revealing 3pm as the best time to engage in sexual intercourse.
Hormone expert Alisa Vitti explained to the Daily Mail that the middle of the afternoon is when the hormones of men and women are most perfectly aligned for love-making. To be more specific, 3pm is when women have high levels of cortisol, making them more energetic. For men, on the other hand, 3pm is when estrogen levels, which heighten mental sensitivity are at their prime. So sex, or perhaps a game of Trivial Pursuit will both go down well at that time.
Shame for all of us 9-5ers, mostly cooped up in offices during the magic 3pm timeslot. However, the morning is apparently the second best time to get it on, due to men’s increased levels of testosterone.
“In men, testosterone levels peak around 7am while you’ll both be fully rested, with heightened senses,” says sex therapist Suzie Hayman. She also mentioned to The Daily Mail that women “tend to be more tactile and responsive” immediately after waking up.
Afternoon delight or morning glory, take your pick.
