Jamie Foxx “Lucky To Be Alive” After Stroke On Set

One of Hollywood’s most-loved actors has recently faced a tragic health scare while on set for an upcoming project. Though he seems to be on the mend, family, friends, and fans alike remain concerned for the actor’s health which remains in a fragile state.

As well as being a fantastic actor with excellent taste in watches and cars alike, Jamie Foxx is widely regarded as one of Hollywood’s nicest and most talented blokes. That’s why a recent health scare has caused a huge wave of concern among his nearest and dearest as well as the industry writ large.

The Academy Award-winning actor – known for his work in films such as Ray, Django Unchained, and Just Mercy – is reportedly lucky to be alive after he was rushed to a hospital in Atlanta due to a “serious medical complication” while filming his upcoming Netflix movie Back in Action.

According to a source close to the actor, the incident required immediate medical attention, and things were “touch and go” for several days. The source also revealed that doctors are yet to determine the precise cause of Foxx’s medical emergency.

“Jamie suffered a serious medical episode and needed immediate attention. It was touch and go for days with him, and he had to be revived — he is very lucky to be alive!” the source told Radar.

Foxx, who is 55 years old, reportedly suffers from high blood pressure, which can cause blood clots in the brain leading to a stroke. The source added that doctors believe the medical emergency wasn’t wholly surprising, but Foxx was fortunate to have received the treatment as quickly as he did:

“He’s very lucky he got the treatment he did. Doctors believe this was a long time coming, and really, if they hadn’t acted fast, Jamie might well have been a goner”

Despite the seriousness of the situation, Foxx is said to be well on the road to recovery and has been surrounded by his family during this difficult time. His daughter, Corinne, took to Instagram to update fans on her father’s condition and expressed her gratitude for the outpouring of support.

“We wanted to share that my father Jamie Foxx experienced a medical complication yesterday. Luckily due to quick action and great care he is already on his way to recovery. We know how beloved he is and appreciate your prayers. The family asks for privacy during this time,” she wrote.

Meanwhile, changes in production have reportedly occurred on the set of Back in Action following Foxx’s hospitalisation: an email obtained by People Magazine informed extras that a scene set to be filmed had instead been cancelled and it is not expected to be rescheduled.

Here at DMARGE, we wish Foxx a full and speedy recovery.
