Eddie Redmayne hit the 2019 Toronto Film Festival this week to attend the premiere of his new movie, The Aeronauts. In this new British film, Eddie Redmayne and Felicity Jones play a 19th-century scientist and hot-air balloonist in 1862 London trying to make aviation history by going to new heights.
For the occasion, Eddie wore a unique take on the classic black and white ‘Derby Day’ outfit, opting for an Alexander McQueen single-breasted houndstooth suit. This incredibly cool and daring suit was paired with a classic white shirt and a skinny black tie.
Interestingly, we’ve not seen super skinny ties in men’s fashion for a few years. So perhaps this is the beginning of a return to mod-inspired fashion?
In any case, Eddie’s suit’s trousers were also perfectly tailored and complimented with a pair of black lace-up oxfords. The man who doesn’t age rarely puts a foot wrong and this was just another moment of sartorial brilliance.
